McLaughlin, who admitted that he stolen two shirts that were in his bag, as well as the black hat he was wearing, and that the merchandise was stolen from Express. I joined Officer Fusco at the Adidas store, where I met with the Suspect, subsequently identified as James McLaughlin. Officer Fusco placed the Suspect into handcuffs for safety purposes. Officer Fusco left the store to search the area, and located a male matching the description inside the Adidas store. Cortes described the male as a white male, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, facial hair, and several red marks on his face. The male, then selected a t-shirt from one of the store displays, and concealed it in his coat before leaving the store. The female had opened a line of credit and purchased approximately $250 worth of clothing for the male. XXXXX stated that a male and female had entered the store together. I met with one of the store employees, XXXXX. I arrived a short time later along with Officer Christopher Fusco (East-3). The following report is a summary of events that I witnessed that night, as they pertain to incident #16005478:Īt approximately 7:17 PM I was dispatched to 301 Artisan Way, the Express Factory Outlet, for a report of a shoplifting in progress. On Saturday, January 30th, 2016, I, Officer Devin Schneider, was in full uniform assigned to marked unit East-4 during the evening shift.
